Selection of Students
: Each school may select up to 20 students. (This includes your competition team.) Students can be given an opportunity to “compete” for a slot. Please choose students who are confident and articulate as they will be “presenting” to visitors at the showcase. Mentors will be responsible for submitting the following to
Jennifer Barnett by Friday, April 9th
List of Participants and accompanying students (make sure all names are spelled correctly.) Once names are submitted, no substitutions will be allowed. Certificates will be given to all participants.
Bus List – Names of adults who will ride the bus with students (teachers should ride bus to AND from showcase with students.)
Mentors are responsible for distributing and collecting student permission forms.
Please keep these on file at your base school.
Mentors are responsible for “check-out sheets” for each school. Parents attending the showcase may sign their child out through the mentor.
You may set up early. The CHS Arena will be open all day on Tuesday, April 20th. We will be at the arena as long as anyone needs us to remain open. Let Mrs. Barnett know if you’ll be arriving late.
Last year, students wore matching t-shirts, nametags, etc.
Plan to do a “trial run” at your school the week before the showcase to give the students an opportunity to practice. This also provides an opportunity for others to give feedback.
Participants are encouraged to set-up the day before the showcase. Principals will be asked to cover classes so that participants may transport materials/equipment.
A 6 foot table will be provided for each participant. If displays are not big enough, two participants may share a table. Remember tablecloths!
Participants should bring their own laptop and screen if needed.
Everyone should plan to be at the CHS Arena on April 21st by 8:30 (earlier if he/she is planning on setting-up that morning.)
A concession stand will be available for students to purchase drinks/snacks or they may choose to bring their own. Lunch will be provided.
Send names of your team (3-5 members) to Jennifer Barnett as soon as they are selected.
Each school team must submit a brochure and multimedia video to Vicky Ozment at the Central Office on or before Friday, April 9, 2010. These competition categories will be judged
Teams should prepare a “project display” that promotes all aspects of their school. The presentation phase will be judged
at the showcase
. Teams should practice at school before the showcase
